Tips to apply makeup foundation

Hi everyone!

The use of foundation is a very personal issue, because everything depends on the results you are looking for. While some are just looking to just unify their skin tone, there are people who like more coverage. Knowing certain tips on how to apply your foundation will help you get the most out of this product and to show off a fabulous skin.

Finding the perfect foundation

To find the right foundation you must always test the product, just put some foundation on your jawline and compare the color under natural light; if the color is camouflaged between the tone of your neck and face, then it is the ideal one. Also, you should use a product suitable to the needs of your skin so you should know what type of skin you have (dry, oily, normal, etc.) and thereby find the foundation that meets your needs.

Finding the perfect foundation is based on trial and error, so you might need to try several products until you find the right one for you.

Prepare your face

A foundation will work best on a clean and conditioned canvas. So don’t forget to wash, moisturize and to use primer before applying foundation.

Applying the foundation

To apply the foundation you can use your fingers (very clean), a sponge or a brush; it all depends on the coverage you want. For a light coverage use your fingers, and if you want more coverage use a sponge or brush; but in any case, don’t forget to blend the product well and use it gradually, it’s always easier to add more product than it is to remove it.

Seal the foundation

Don’t forget to seal the foundation after applying, the amount and type of powder you will use depends on your skin type, but it’s always essential to seal the T-zone (forehead and bridge of the nose).
