How to clean makeup brushes

Hi everyone!

Brushes are a must-have in any makeup kit (doesn't matter if you are a professional or not) because even those who use little makeup surely have a blush brush or lip brush. That’s why is very important to know how to clean makeup brushes, as they are tools that are in constant contact with the skin and whose poor hygiene can have serious consequences on it.

Clean makeup brushes

Daily cleansing

Immediately after working with the brushes it’s ideal to use a cleaner to remove bacteria and help them dry quickly, because this allows you to be able to use the brushes again in a short time. My preferred cleaner is "Makeup Brush Cleaner", just spray it on the brush and rub it in a paper towel, let it dry for a few seconds and they are ready to use.

In case you don’t have a brush cleaner you can use an alcohol spray to disinfect, however it’s not advisable to do this often as it can damage the brushes.

Deep cleaning

Every 15 days or once a month (depending on usage) you should do a thorough cleaning. In this case you can use any of these 2 methods:

  • Make a mixture with 50% olive oil and 50% dishwashing detergent. Cover the wet brush with this mixture, rub gently in the palm of your hand, rinse well and let dry on a towel.

  • Rub the wet brush on white bar soap (for washing clothes), clean in the palm of your hand, rinse and let dry.

In this way you will keep your brushes always clean and ready to use them, your skin and makeup products will appreciate it.

Thanks for coming, you are welcome to like and share with your friends!

Until the next post!
